Dynam Japan (6889), the pachinko hall operator, posted interim net profit of 8.33 billion yen (HK$573 million), representing a 53.2 percent rise from the year before. Revenue was 73.58 billion yen.

The company declared an interim dividend of 6 yen per ordinary share.

Pre-tax profit increased by 47.6 percent to 12.41 billion yen, thanks to reduced hall operating expenses and general and administrative expenses.

As at September 30, 2018, the group operated the largest pachinko hall network in Japan with a total of 450 to 179 high playing cost and 271 low playing cost halls.

Kohei Sato, chairman and the chief executive said, "the pachinko industry is facing challenges, such as the revised gaming machine rules effective from February 1, 2018, which have further controled and lowered volatility of gaming machines."
