A tablet containing Ibuprofen, used to treat pain and inflammation has been recalled by Hong Kong health authorities.

Tablets of Ipufen (200mg) supplied to private doctors and pharmacies by licensed drug wholesaler, Hitpharm Pharmaceutical Company, were recalled by the Department of Health due to a quality issue. The drug is manufactured in Taiwan.

Test results from the Government Laboratory showed that the samples failed the disintegration test, which might affect the efficacy of the product.
