Stocks in Hong Kong rallied at the mid day break today. The benchmark Hang Seng Index climbed by 1.17 percent, or 306.35 points at 26,427.31.
Stocks of mobile component makers rallied in the morning session.
AAC Technologies (2018) recovered by 5.83 percent to HK$63.5, while Sunny Optical (2382) climbed by 3.44 percent to HK$78.1.
ZTE (0763) surged by 7.07 percent after announcing that it will increase its strategic investment in mainland transport and automotive markets.
China's top pork processor WH Group (0288) gained by 2.9 percent to HK$6.03, insurance giant AIA Group (1299) added 2.56 percent to HK$64.1.
In mainland China, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index was up by 0.26 percent at 2,666.28 points. The Shenzhen Component Index gained 0.64 percent to end at 7,841.09 points at mid day.
On Wall Street on Tuesday, the S&P 500 index added 17.14 points, or 0.6 percent, to 2,755.45. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained by 173.31 points, or 0.7 percent, to 25,635.01. The Nasdaq composite picked up 47.11 points, or 0.6 percent, to 7,375.96. The Russell 2000 index of smaller-company stocks added 8.59 points, or 0.6 percent, to 1,556.10.
