More schools planned for Great Bay, Kevin Yeung saysLocal | 12 Oct 2018 6:43 pm
The Education Secretary, Kevin Yeung, said today that the government plans to build schools which offer the Hong Kong curriculum in the Greater Bay Area.
Yeung said the schools are targeted at the children of Hong Kong people who have moved there for work.
He said education authorities in Guangdong province have responded positively to the plan, but the Hong Kong government still needs to liaise with different mainland cities to find suitable sites for the construction of the schools.
But education sector lawmaker Ip Kin-yuen told RTHK's Wendy Wong that the government should first check whether there will be enough demand.
