UK reports dismal second quarter growthBusiness | 10 Aug 2018 8:09 pm
The UK's economy grew by a mere 0.4 percent in the second quarter, compared with the anemic 0.2 percent recorded in the first three months of the year.
Growth remains well before financial crisis levels.
The TUC General Secretary Frances O’Grady says the "the latest figures cap a dismal decade for the economy. ''
In contrast, Chancellor of the Exchequer, Philip Hammond, tweeted: "The economy has grown every year since 2010. Unemployment is at its lowest since the 1970s and our national debt is starting to fall. We are building a stronger economy for everyone. ''
