Hang Seng climbs 260 points at mid day

Stocks in Hong Kong and China advanced at mid day today after US president Donald Trump agreed to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index climbed 0.85 percent, or 260.34 points, at 30,914.86 while the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index added 0.57 percent, or 70.66 points, at 12,405.49.

In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.14 percent, or 4.55 points, at 3,292.96 and the Shenzhen Composite Index rose 0.91 percent, or 16.86 points, at 1,873.33.
