Lawmaker says his university contract has not been renewedLocal | 12 Jan 2018 7:31 pm
Civic Passion lawmaker Cheng Chung-tai, who is a teaching fellow at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, said his contract has not been renewed.
Cheng was convicted and fined in September last year for inverting some of the national and regional flags that pro-establishment legislators had placed on their desks in Legislative Council October in 2016.
In a Facebook post today, the 34-year-old lawmaker quoted a letter from PolyU saying that his conduct and convictions are inconsistent with the university’s commitment to quality education and aspiration to embrace internationalization.
His current contract will end in June this year.
