A jobless man, alleged of spearing six turtles to death and injuring four others in a hospital pond last year, has been sentenced to three months' imprisonment.

Choi Man-sang, 60, pleaded guilty to a count of cruelty to animals at the Eastern Magistrates' Courts today.

On October 26 in 2017, a Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital staffer found the dead and injured turtles at the pond and informed the hospital authorities.

The middle-aged man, with mild intellectual disability, was arrested in Chai Wan a week later.
