Driver nabbed over HK$11m smuggled gold

Customs said today a 31-year-old driver was arrested after suspected smuggled gold, worth about HK$11 million in estimated market value, were seized at a control point yesterday.

On December 6, officers intercepted an incoming private car at Shenzhen Bay Control Point for inspection and seized 35 pieces of smuggled gold weighing about 35 kilograms in total inside the boot of the vehicle.
